About Elle Otero

“Maggie turned on the flashlight, pointing it at the ground. She forced herself to pull the screen door open with shaking hands. The hinges screamed. The air inside rushed out, washing over her body and she gagged, slapping her hand over her nose and mouth. Then there was a creaking sound overhead. She pointed the flashlight up.” — excerpt from “The Cave”
